The Lyon to Lincoln Challenge.

5 DIFFERENT WAYS YOU CAN HELP.

Help me to help the International Bomber Command Centre.

OK, for the next few months, I will be devoting this site to  a  little adventure I will be embarking on this summer.

I will be cycling over 1600km and I like you to watch the little video below. Go and get yourself a cup of coffee and take 4 minutes out of your day to watch the video it will explain all.

After you’ve watched, if I’ve inspired you to help, and I’m sure it will, there are five different ways that together we can help the International Bomber Command Centre maintain the memories of those who helped protect the freedom that we all enjoy today.

Five ways to help

Option 1 - You could make a donation.

Click on the IBCC LOGO to donate

I’m going get this one out of the way straight away, I could have left it to the end, but that would make me a kind of modern-day Double Glazing Salesman.

The primary reason I am doing this challenge it to raise some money for the International Bomber Command Centre, IBCC. Every penny counts and if you could spare some of your hard earned pennies to ensure the legacy of Bomber Command is preserved through their education services and community work with veterans and families, that would be fantastic!

Clicking on the logo above will take you directly to the website of the IBCC, so it’s as secure as it can be and there are no admin charges, all the money goes to the IBCC.

Option 2 - Follow me on Social Media.

This adventure is about telling stories and introducing you to some of the heroes of Bomber Command. I have designed my route to take in many landmarks and sites with significant relevance to some of the crews mentioned in the video.

It will be like being part of the adventure – but without the saddle sores 🙂

Option 3 - Sign up for my blog

I admit it: I’ve got a bit obsessed with the wartime archaeology in The Beaujolais. Whilst I will be updating social media, the most comprehensive place for detail, however, will be my here on my écrivélo blog. You’ve made it this far, so great. Thank you.

More traffic on the blog is always appreciated and helps me to uncover new information as word spreads.

Option 4 - Spread the word!

To raise more money and raise more awareness needs publicity. What’s a more natural way than to tell your friends and get them to follow me on social media and via my blog?

So, please let your friends know, I would really appreciate it.

It goes without saying that knowing I have lots of support will be very motivating when I’m actually in the saddle and those kilometres aren’t passing as quickly as I’d hoped!

Option 5 - Come for a ride!

Cycling man

It’s a long and winding road from Lyon to Lincoln. If you fancy joining me for a day or just a couple of hours, just let me know.

I’m looking forward to making the journey with you – and hope that together we can learn a little and help the IBCC continue its important work.
