This book is written by Roger CHAVANET a member of the Resistance under the code name Guerin.He was born in TROYES on April 30, 1915 and at the age of 16 he came to live with his uncle in LYON and work in the city.
He soon committed himself politically to the French Communist Party and confronted with the coming of the war in 1939. By  1940 he was demobilised and returned to civilian life.
Soon after he joined the Francs-Tireurs et Partisans in Lyon and went on to found the camp DESTHIEUX with the Maquis of the AZERGUES
He was eventually seriously injured in combat and remained disabled until he died in January 1997 at age 82.
