LYON TO LINCOLN

 100 DAYS

Hi

In 100 days I will be arriving in Lincoln. A journey of reflection and remembrance of Bomber Command, raising vital funds for The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) to ensure that generations to come can learn of their vital role in protecting the freedom we enjoy today.

The relevance of 100 days is that I will arrive on the 26th July. 74 years earlier on the 26th July in 1944 FO’s Flaherty and Christie took off from RAF Woodhall Spa in Lincoln, never to return. It was their story that sparked my interest in these forgotten heroes.

So by the time this 100 days has passed, I will have completed my cycling challenge with 16 long days of cycling, during which I will have travelled over 1600km and climbed over 13,000 metres.

In 1944 however there was another statistic that I would like to share with you… In the same 100 days leading ups to 26th July 1944, 5002 members of bomber command lost their lives.

Please help me to help the IBCC continue their important work by making a donation, large or small, as together it will make a difference.

Thanks

Martin
